AIMS

To appreciate the different forms of public enterprise and their accountability

To understand how public enterprises can be efficient, competitive and international

To consider how public enterprises differ from private enterprises as employers

To understand the environmental impact of utilities

To understand the different forms of regulation and their consequences

At the end of this module you should be able to:

  • Understand the potential for development of public enterprises
  • Make more effective demands on regulatory systems
