Aberdeen Environmental Services

AES was initially a joint venture between KWS, Balfour Beatty and Earth Tech, created in 2000 for a 30 year PFI the design, build, finance and operation of four waste water treatment works in north-east Scotland.

Following the buy-out of Balfour Beatty's shareholding in AES in April 2010, Kelda Water Services now wholly owns AES, having previously acquired the shareholding of Earth Tech.

The four waste water treatment works at Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Persley and Nigg serve significant population catchments in the Grampian region of Scotland.

The ongoing operations and maintenance of these works is contracted out by AES to Kelda Water Services (Grampian), a wholly owned Kelda Water Services subsidiary. These Operations include sludge treatment and sludge import facilities, as well as wastewater treatment.
